Chancellor recaps a successful Summer Term

Bucky Badger

Chancellor Rebecca Blank reflected on what made Summer Term 2019 great in her most recent Blank’s Slate blog.

“Summer Term enrollments in 2019 were up 7 percent from last year,” she said. “For many students, Summer Term has become an integral part of the Wisconsin experience.”

She explained how Summer Term continues to increase offerings for students — online, on campus and across the world.

For example, she noted that in 2019, the inaugural Wisconsin Experience Summer Launch program invited incoming first-year students to take an online course, meet fellow students and faculty, and move in to their residence halls early. Summer enrollment of incoming first-year students increased by 56 percent from last summer.

Chancellor Blank also mentioned international opportunities, a growing list of online courses, fostering career skills, community-based courses and Summer Term scholarships.
