This scholarship is intended for students who are participating in unpaid or underpaid internships for credit. We are here to help support you and your learning journey with this new Summer Internship scholarship! Scholarship applications open February 10, 2025!

Here’s everything you need to know about the Summer Internship Scholarship

Eligibility criteria

Currently enrolled at UW–Madison pursuing an undergraduate degree

Enrolled in at least one UW-Madison Summer Term course (including internship courses) by April 6, 2025.

Accepted to an internship that is 10 hours/week minimum and lasts a minimum of 6 weeks. Cannot be an internship for post-graduation. Students must submit a position description and letter of certification (offer letter/email) for the internship with their application.

Selection criteria

Completed applications are evaluated by a scholarship committee using the above eligibility criteria. Applicants should have well-written and thoughtful responses to the application questions. Applications missing required documentation will not be considered.

Funding is limited. Awards may be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.

Award notification

Scholarship Award Amounts of up to $1,500 will be available. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of April, 2025.

To apply for this scholarship, complete the following process:

Talk with your advisor to make sure you’re available. Enroll in a Summer Term course (including internship courses) by April 6, 2025.

Secure a Summer 2025 internship that is 10 hours/week minimum; 6 weeks minimum. Have a position description and letter of certification (offer letter) ready to submit. *Cannot be for internship post-graduation.

Complete the scholarship application in the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) by April 6, 2025. Applications open February 10, 2025.

*Please note that if you apply for the Summer Finish and/or Undergraduate Scholarship for Summer Study in addition to this Internship Scholarship, you are only able to receive one of the awards.
