Summer is a wonderful time to learn, grow, and prepare for the academic year to come. These programs offer some ways to do just that. See if you’re eligible to apply.
Undergraduates:

Early Start
Our early start programs allow incoming students to take classes in the summer before their first fall semester. Early start programs give students a head start on their UW–Madison journey and help make a smooth academic transition to college.

Study Abroad
UW–Madison students have the opportunity to explore the world through more than 100 summer programs in a variety of languages, including many in English.
High school students:

Badger Precollege
What can young learners do at UW–Madison this summer? Just about anything. Badger Precollege offers an array of academic programs for students ages 5-18 — from advanced learning programs and STEM classes to music clinics and college readiness conference.
Visiting students:

Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes
Want to immerse yourself in a language this summer? From Arabic to Uzbek, we’ve got you covered. You could enroll in a Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institute (WISLI). WISLI condenses an entire year of language study in the eight-week summer session that combines classroom learning with a variety of co-curricular activities. It is a wonderful way to meet other language learners and practice the skills you are learning.
